what preparations should i do before taking up violin lessons?

i am planning to enroll in a formal violin class by next year. are there things that i can study by myself for now to make learning how to play the violin a bit easier? thanks!!! really looking forward to your help!

Violin usually doesn’t come in "classes," it comes in private lessons. You should talk to your teacher and find out what books you need. If they do Suzuki, you could get the book and the CD, and start listening to the CD.

You also have to get a violin outfit. Here is one at a reasonable price, which is quite good:
