How much do you pay for half-an-hour’s piano lesson if the teacher comes to teach your child at home?

It is south east England here. I’d like to find out the fair amount to pay my child’s piano teacher. Thanks.

I charge $10 USD a half in hour

Calculate the distance she drives to your house there and back home. You want to make sure you reimburse her for that amount first. Then I say about $8-$10 on top of that, a half hour isnt that long at all really. So if you add it up or break it down she would make $16-$20 an hour if she stayed for the whole hour. But she should be happy with making 8 or 10 dollars if she knows her gas is covered also.

I have been playing the piano for 10 years and I pay $18 USD for 30 minutes per week for a very good piano teacher. I think that is the norm here in Florida. I go to my teacher’s house, so if the teacher were to come to you, she would charge around $20 or $22 USD. It is very hard to find a piano teacher for $10 unless they are a student in college or something.
