Posted by admin on November 28th, 2009 and filed under Uncategorized | 25 Comments »

With so much basic information to cover, Get Piano Lesson 1 continues here with this second installment (video 2 of 3) where you can watch me demonstrate proper fingering on the piano. Next, it’s your turn to join me as we play our first five piano notes in the Middle C position using a legato playing style. Nothing too heavy at this point… but just wait until next lesson! Work things been so mandane and boring and yesterday night I decided that will stop reading junk news paper in the train and get my that piano book out and read that instead, and make my new year resolution earlier and be able to play piano by end of January 2010. The book is good, but finding this video lesson….is superb. Thank you for all your time and sharing your passion. I promise to play by January. :)

    Depends what you …
Depends what you mean by…”professional”. Not all people have the same goals when it comes to the piano. If you just wanna play tunes, it can take just a few weeks to develop a basic feel for the keyboard.

But if you wanna Play Carnegie Hall… then you better prepare for many years of intense study*

    ok ok….so you …
ok ok….so you it’s basically depends on what scale you’re playing….it’s clear so far…thanks for that…!sorry for asking u a persistent question…xD….im just determined to learn piano..=)…anyways..if I have any question again…ima consult u..Thanks!!

  12. getpianolessons Says:

    you don’t have to …
you don’t have to use fingering 12312345 if you’re playing the F major scale. You can use 12341234 instead…….. that’s much more sensible*

  13. gideoness444 Says:

    oh i see…!!!that …
oh i see…!!!that solve the problem!!!but i have another QUESTION…i dunno if this valid..or too early..but yah…when playing scale..specially scale of F…it’s hard to use our thumb in getting to B flat..i mean..if I’m going to follow the sequence…it’ll be hard to play other scale like F scale…so should i keep doing this pattern..or it depends on what scale you’re playing???

    thanks good job
i love the piano but i have to learn firs and u helpt me alot

  15. getpianolessons Says:

    That’s the reason …
That’s the reason you keep your wrist up…. so you’re not pressing more force into the keys than necessary. Your hand should “hover” above the keys…. not mash lazily down onto the keys. each finger should strike down individually from the finger joint….. so NO…. don’t use excess force unless your trying to purposely create a louder sound.

  16. gideoness444 Says:

    I have a QUESTION …
I have a QUESTION though…while pressing the key..should you put weight on your fingers..i mean…if you’re pushing the keys…you’re putting force..pretty much not weight…or something like that…i dunno..but..help me..or should the risk lift the finger while it’s pressing the key??
